As poppy petals gently fall Remember us who gave all Not in mud of
foreign lands Nor buried in the desert sands.
In Ulster field and farm and town, Fermanagh's lanes and
drumlin'd Down. We died that violent death should cease And
Ulstermen might live in peace.
We did not serve because we hate Nor bitterness our hearts dictate.
But we were they who must aspire. To quench the flame of
terror's fire
Grieve not for us, but this we ask, Let others yet take up the task.

Today is veterans day in the U.S.A. This morning I will be attending
the Veterans day parade in my home town of Folsom, California. My
thoughts and prayers will be with all of you who have served and are
serving in harms way so that my children and grandchildren may be
safe. I am proud to have served in the greatest battalions this world
has known 1RUR & 2RIR . Those serving in other lands stay safe and
come home soon. Gerry thankyou for the wonderful tribute to our
comrades and families. I will be thinking of you this morning at 9am.
