A Mighty Band
The time has come, our work is done,
We gave it all we had,
Many men and women gone
We've won the war, not bad!
Our history is a proud one,
With many passing through,
Shouting "Faugh a Ballagh",
We've won the war, so true.
A time to mourn our lost ones,
And a time to be so proud,
God bless our fallen comrades,
We'll shout your names out loud.
We're a mix of all, we took the call,
Paddies, Liamys, Jocks and Taffs,
We'll remember all the good times,
A pint with friends, some laughs.
We can here the bomb and see the blood,
A river crimson red,
We'll pick them up, man woman child,
Yet more must mourn their dead.
But the end is now,
And we've beat them back, in our wee crazy land,
The Caubeen and the hackle,
Rest now a Mighty Band!
