Now everything is down to you to make the day a resounding success, I ask all who are able to please attend, as this will probably be the last major Rangers event, as most of us are not getting any younger.

And the lads of the Yorkshire Branch have worked very hard for all our benefits and deserve our full support, as there were no 40th Celebrations available elsewhere at the time.

Sounds good to me. Eddie Parkinson (CSM C Coy) has agreed to put us up in the Grunewald. He has agreed to march us all from the aircraft directly to the bivvy site. If we behave ourselves, he will allow us a night out on the town!!!!!!!!!!

YA! Berlin sounds like a good one. Was over on Paddies Day this year and was made most welcome at the Irish Bar in the Europa Centre. Note on Iron Jaws, I have it on good authority that a unit from the Recce Pl 2 RIR may be responsible for one of her siblings. In particular a RGR called 'horse'! Anyone throw any light?

Shanks, sounds good! Berlin might be a problem though for some of the old and bold. L2 is still barred from most of the bars for mine sweeping and there is an ongoing issue with CSA for Iron Jaws which involves wee Jimmy Knuckles and all his mates from the mortars. Keep us informed on how you get on. FAB.

It is with sadness we record the passing of an old soldier

We have been asked by Cheshire social services to try and locate any relatives or comrades of Mr Thomas Holland Ex Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. Thomas passed away at a nursing home in Chester this week with no known next of kin.

The only details we have are that Thomas was 99 years old, he enlisted in the Skins around 1926 and was a POW of the Japanese during the second world war.

Thomas will be laid to rest at Blacon crematorium 15:00hrs Monday 14th May.
