Robert, as far as i can remember there should be 3 patches on the kilt
in the shape of a shamrock, each 1 should have a badge from the royal
inniskilling fusiliers (Skins), royal ulster rifles(Stickies) & royal
irish fusiliers(Faughs) who amalgamated in 1968 to become the royal
irish rangers. Im sure if I'm wrong some one will post the
correct version.

I'm looking for information on a uniform I have obtained for a
Military museum that I am on the board for. I just have the doublet
and kilt of a pipers uniform. The kilt only has 2 black patches for
badges, can you tell me what year this may come from and what are the
correct badges to go on it. Also how would I go about obtaining the
other parts of this uniform or any other uniforms of the Irish
Rangers? As the museum normaly displays American Uniforms, it does
have an extensive collection of British Uniforms (from Victorian era
to now) and I am working to put together a display of these. (I
believe I also have one of your mess dress uniforms, but am still
doing research) Any information would be a great help.
